Originally from Texas, Los Estrellas De Oro are now based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The band consists of Eliberto Contreras Jr. (Accordion and lead vocals) Bernardo G. Contreras (Bass Guitar and backing vocals) Jaime Martinez (Bajo Sexto) and John "Big Boy" Ortiz (Drums and Keys). This super talented Conjunto group has taken Michigan and the surrounding areas by storm. They signed to Ritmo Records in 2007 and have now released their second album on the label. 2011 saw their first trip to San Antonio, Texas to participate in the Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair event and they even gathered their first TTMA nomination for Best New Group. The Contreras Brothers are no stranger to the music scene. Their Uncle, Homero Guerrero (Los Cadetes De Linares) set the tone for their musical endeavours at a young age. The group is currently working on their third CD under Ritmo Records and should be out in the first few months of 2012.
